Default keyless entry problem...

i have factory keyless entry on my civic... i've installed a cd deck a few months ago and everything was still working fine until a few days ago. when i try to unlock or lock using the factory keyless entry remote, it doesn't respond. i tried bith remotes. the led on the remotes blink, but the car locks doesn't respond to it. anyone knows what's wrong with it? thanks!

what year civic is it? 96-01 has a K/E module attached to the factory radio. if you remove the radio, goodbye keyles entry. the domelight is also controlled by that module, so that shouldnt be worknig anymore either. what you have to do is wire the stock radio and the aftermarket radio but hide the stock one underneath the center console

No, 96-98. 99-01 was done different, and you don't have to keep the factory radio in the dash.

Agreed only 96-98 civics has this problem. you can buy a harness that will run from your factory deck to your aftermarket deck, which will allow you to use your keyless entry option. The only pain is relocating the big stock deck.

i have a 97 civic... i kept the factory radio hidden inside. the keyless entry was working fine after the aftermarket cd deck was installed. the deck was installed in dec and the keyless entry was working fine until just this week.

would it be something wrong with the keyless entry programming? i already made an appointment with the dealer and let's see what went wrong. i am almost positive that they will blame the problem on the aftermarket deck.
