Default Thinking of painting muffler flat black...

Well, my Tanabe Super Racing Medallion just can't stay shiny, and since I'm pretty much going with the whole dark/stealth theme I've been thinking of painting my muffler flat black.

For the people that have done this, how did it turn out, and how has it held up?

Do I need anything else besides sand paper and hi-temp paint, and how much should I expect to pay for the paint?

if anyone has pics, please post them
Thanks

ur gonna have to screw up the shiny finish so u probably also wanna have those super damaging brillo pads or the wire brushes to help scratch it up.. because its gonna get super hot.. u'll need high temp engine or BBQ paint.. probably in flat black.. the paint should cost less than $5/can.. and u'll probably have to be over the age of 18 cuz they dont sell spray paint to kids...

http://www.angelfire.com/dc/streetimageperf/kane.htm here we go.. flat black painted es oval.. stainless steel.. now flat black

remember that u can only do one layer of spray at a time.. if u put too much on at once it'll drip and look nasty.. try not to spray around other cars.. or on the grass cuz the parents will get mad..

I painted mine black.
I didn't want stunnaz trying to street race me, when they saw a bling bling shiny muffler. Its a greddy Evo.

I just used 500 degree paint...the muffler doesn't get that hot...use 1500 degree if you want i guess

I paid bout $5 a can for the stuff
two cans should do it

You can paint a EVO or N1 muffler black but I don't think it's "stealth". Sure it will attract less attention but it's still obvious by looking at the shape of the muffler that it is not stock. When I think of stealth, I think about the guy that put a Magnaflow muffler inside his stock muffler! Anyone remember this recent thread with pic.

I did a search but couldn't find the thread, I don't remember the topic.

True true, by stealth on my N1 i meant less noticeable but not so shiny, it's still a BIG *** can
*EDIT* also my car is black and lowered, so at night it'll be hard to see
and yea i remember that muffler inside the stock one too. dont remember name of thread though

I would use BBQ paint. Very cheap and easy.
