oil fouled spark plugs

Default oil fouled spark plugs

ok i have oil deposits on my spark plugs.......


any suggestions on how to correct this... right now its pretty slight but i dont want it to get worse

If you have actual oil fouling on the tips of the plugs, as opposed to on the body that comes from a leaking valve cover grommet... a short term fix would be to run plugs that are one heat range hotter than what you have now.

The ultimate fix would be to correct the oil burning problem. This could be valve stem seals, and/or oil control rings on the piston$.

i learned about this in class yesterday...there are a few things u need to do in order to find out...check compression of each cylinder...make sure the spark plugs are on tightly...run the car again....if oil is still building up on the spark plugs, u could have a blown gasket..or bent valves...get that thing fixed otherwise, that motor is gone.
