Default tanabe hyper medallion question

I'm facing the age old problem of upgrading my exhaust without getting too loud. I have a 98 ITR with a jrsc (8 psi), so I would like to go up to a true 2.5", but anything that anyone calls "quiet" is only 60mm. That's not much of an improvement, but I'm looking to get rid of the bottlenecks and get a slightly more free-flowing muffler. So is anyone out there running a tanabe hyper medallion on a FI ITR? Does it make much more power than the stock ITR exhaust? Is it much louder?

Also, does anyone have a suggestion for a "quiet" true 2.5"?

BTW I have a kamikaze header with the 2.5" collector that will be installed with the catback. I'll probably have to get a special cat to thook them up, but I have to wait until I decide what I'm going to get.

Thanks for any help.

Have you looked into the new T1R catback?
