Alright... I should have posted this a while ago.. I did a search and found nothing about it...

Whats up with the digital gas and temperature display on the the 4th gen... Its awesome I admit... Why does no one make a digital aftermarket tach and speedo for them so they will match the other digital stuff? I have found 2 places that will custom make one, but we are talking about a grand for it... Does anyone make em and I not know about it or what? Dont you think it'd be cool all digital... I love the tachs in some cars that are digital that jump just like the gas gauge does along with telling you rpm in the middle of them.... Would be awesome to get one I think... It wouldnt look aftermarket to anyone not familar with the prelude... It would actually fit pretty well... Wonder if we could get someone to make them for a group of us cheap?

 

yea i dont know of anybody that makes them, it would be kool. another thing would be an s2000 dash modded into the lude, or even just the gauge cluster

i assume you have a 92-93 prelude, right?
well, 94-up VTEC ludes and 95-up Si/SE ludes do come with gauges that match the gas/temperature display. you can pick up one of those at a junk jard and slap it in.
but if you're talking about speedo and tach without the needle (kinda like the S2000 gauge cluster), than that's different. and it would be a total waste of money.

 

The gauges match? I have seen so many ludes and the gauges are always the same as mine... Guess I will have to look into that... Anyway you have a picture... I would love to put one in that matches.... Its digital right?

 

well, it's electro-luminescent... yes, it matches exactly. looks pretty tite.
you will have to get the gauge cluster, its harness and invertor. then you just plug it in and enjoy!

yea i have a 96 si the gages are the same color and are electro luminescent behind a tinted sheld so when the car isnt one you cant see them.

 

All 94+ Ludes have electroluminescent gauges, not any particular model. They did a mid gen 'upgrade' as you will, like many manufactureres do. There were several changes from 93 to 94.

No offense guys but I am havign trouble seeing the difference... So, you cnat see the gauges unless the cars on right? Thats the difference your trying to show me right? Thats kinda cool... I was talking about digital gauges...

 

yea its all black when the cars off, even the miles are displayed in digital, not the real tach tho, its pretty good for back then

 

digital like the S2000 gauges? you will not find those anywhere except you have them custom made like you said. but these look pretty good too. better than 92-93 at least... thats why i want to get them for my girl's 92 Si.

 

Yea... they do... I agree with that, but I am was really talking actal digital gauges like the cadillacs and stuff... The ones that show the actaul speed in number format and have a gauge that increases like the gas one for rpm and speedo with the numbers in the mddle.. Thatd be cool...

 

i doubt anyone will make them. though... i think the OEM looks hella good. i wouldn't change it for anything else...

P.S. if APC keeps on selling them 'tezzas at the rate they are selling them now, you can expect them to get huge in the future... so maybe they will make them one day... in like 2010 or something... so keep your fingers crossed! hahaha
