Default 4WS almost killed me

I have driven many cars in my life , i also live in canada where we get alot of snow.

My problem is that my 1992 4WS(vtec swap) car is super instable in the snow and fish tails when u change lanes. Last night i did 5 360 turns at 100KM comming off the highway thank god it was late night and not alot of cars on the road. I have both driven 5th and 4th gen preludes in the snow and they are different.

Dose 4WS make u fish Tail and do spins even at low speeds ?

even at 20KHP the car fish tails ,,,, its not driving to fast , its when i burn the back swings forward and then i'm fucked , so i either rally it , counter steer and apply power which usualy works. But the car is in stable in snow

driving too fast in unstable conditions makes you fish tail

what are you doing driving 100km/h in icy snowy conditions? that's the reason you are fishtailing and spinning out.

Never drive faster than is safe for the conditions of the road and traffic.

don't edit your post to cover your ***, according to your first post the conditions and driving methods didn't match

your edited version suggests that you are jerking the wheel to turn and making the car step out, there would be not many other reasons why a car would even get loose at that speed, unless it's ice on the road then my question would be why are you driving in those conditions?

100KM (thats ~62mph right?) in the snow? i drive that in the rain w/ lots of space around me... i dont even want to imagine trying that in the snow. Dont blame the car for irresponsible decisions.

and try turning your wheel slower when you turn. It's not all about how fast you are going forward, its also about how quickly you turn/snap the wheel.

Most Canadians don't have that much trouble driving at 100kph in the snow, it's quite routine for us.

Thats true but I still take it easy in the snow, I know how unreliable my car/the road can be at times so I dont even like taking the chance.

my 92 4ws is also fish tails slightly, SLIGHTLY more then my other cars do in the snow. The back end likes to slide out if your not careful. Just slow it up a bit and its not a problem. Also, the back wheels turn so little I dont think it'd kill you, maybe your driving style well though.

Uhhh.. yes they do!! I drove to Halifax, Nova Scotia and there was atleast 3 inchs of snow on the road.. I was doing 30 in my ex-gf's sentra and felt like we were going to die (granted it was a sentra... that by its self might have been what was making me feel like that), but the other ppl were doing like 50+

My friend had a 4ws lude and he said when he went fast around tight turns he would spin out. I never got to drive it so I dont know, but he wasnt a good driver....so that could have been it too.

Dude, you simply don't know how to drive in the snow. Always be light on the pedal when you're getting up to speed in the snow and if you have to make a lane change, give yourself a lot of space and time to do it. Ease over into the other lane, of course doing a snap turn is gonna make you spinout, it's called COMMON SENSE. Get some or end up as another satistic, it's your choice. In all my time of owning my 4WS, I've never spun out, even when I had bald tires. Play it safe.

Peace
