Default First time being pulled over!

Well me and my brother were on our way to Santa Cruz here in california on HWY 1, and I was going about 60-65 following right behind my brother. I see a cop on the shoulder of the road and drive right by him. I look at my side mirror and see him pulling off the shoulder slowly and then caught up to me. My brother changed lanes into the right lane and i did the same. the cop came up behind me and flashed his red lights. So i pull over and my brother sees me and pulls over ahead of me. the cop comes up and tells me that i was driving to close to my brother about 2-3 car lengths away and that i should be driving 6-7 car lengths away. So i was thinking isn't that how far you're suppose to follow from behind about 3 car lengths? Then he checks the front of my car and came back and asked me if i had a licence plate for the front and i told him that it was in my trunk. then he went back to his car and came back to the front of my car and started to measure the height of my car, I guess he was checking to see if my car was to low. then he goes back to his car and starts writing me up. I was like darn this sucks. So he comes back and tells me to sign this paper and tells me that it was just a fix it ticket and i might not have to pay for it. he wrote me up for not having my front license plate on. So he tells me to put on my plates and show it to another cop and have it signed off. I just thougth that this was a stupid reason to pull someone over. While he was writing me up, i was watching the cars driving by and there were a **** load of cars driving all close to each other and i was the only one being pulled over. Good thing it wasn't a big fine or something.

I'd have to agree with jdmjerk...everyhting I remember from learning how to drive was stay 1 car length back for every 10mph...2-3 is pretty close at that speed.

Yeah, you definitely got off easy. Now you can take your front plate back off.
