Default Valves for the ZC head...Source?

I can't seem to find a good source to find valves for the ZC head. They have a smaller stem diameter than the normal 5.5mm honda valve. Does anyone have a source for these valves? Can't find them at Manley or Ferra

Are you looking for some high performance replacements or just some new ones? The 88-89 Integra valves are the same. I've heard that people have put LS valves in the ZC head, but I don't know if that's possible.

I'm with ya earl, i actually talked to you a few weeks ago about this. I've searched high and low for valves for my ZC head, and springs for that matter. I've even set my valves out to get measured and compared to other valves. According to the shop i dealt with (Race Engineering) they are in a league of there own. he told me not one other Honda valve, stock or aftermarket, measured the same as the ZC ones. There either just a little too short, slightly larger diameter, and so on.... I think we're s.o.l. earl.

Try calling HKS , I think they make cams and a spring set, They might have valves too.
If not ferrea , you might have to buy 2 set or so , but they cam custom make them.

I ran into the same problems with my ZC build awhile back. I looked high and low with not much luck. The only option I could fins were custom valves built to ZC spec. At that time I did not have the funds for custom jobs...I used 89 Teg valves.
Good luck on the search, I hope you turn something up

What engine does the 88-89 integra have? If those valves will work, I'll get them..........at this point I've been working and waiting too long for aftermarket ones.

The 86-89 Integra has the D16A1. It's a DOHC D series engine that is in many ways identical to the ZC.

I have talked to Larry at Endyn, and he will custom machine some LS valves for the ZC which are black nitride coated.

He wanted around 200 something.

Other than that, it's pretty much the Acura dealer....

I think the best and most cost effective source will be OEM D16A1 valves which are about $8-9 each from an Acura dealer. Of course custom valves can be made and some places I have found offer that service, like Web Camshafts, and Race Engineering, but the price makes it hard to justify for most apps.

I am still wondering if D16A1 valves are EXACTLY the same dimensions as the ZC. Gonna have to check on that...

I've heard of running LS valves in the ZC before, too. If the stem diameter is off, can you swap out the whole guide?
