if your speedometer doesn't work will your cel come on?
just put a different gauge cluster in my g2 integra and the speedo doesn't work and like 15 minutes after driving my cel came on and i was wondering if that is because the speedo isn't workin or could it be something else? hhhmmmmmm

even though it was working right with the other cluster you still think it's the speed sensor?

From time to time mine stops working. It only happens after the car has been sitting for a day or two, and it works after driving almost exactly 3 miles. I never get a CEL, but I don't know that it's my VSS...
