harness / roll bar question + handling mod question
hi guys, ive read some other stuff on this board via search, but havent found much about what kind of racing seat would be best in combination with a harness and roll bar for street use.
i *think* a 6 point rollbar combined with a 6 point harness would be the safest combination of roof crush prevention / harness stability. this would account for your head not smashing into the bar and the roof not crushing if you roll, and you still stay nice and stable in your seat from the harness (right?). I dont know much about racing seats, however, so how would this play into the equation? thanks
i spun out a car into a tree = flip and i dont want that happening again, so thats where question number 2 comes in. can anyone suggest a good order to do suspension mods in? eg. 1.shocks, 2.swaybar, 3.strutbar etc. (while reading, please keep in mind, if done, this would be to a gsr. please tell me if different years have any bearing
) First thing i want to do would be to pull out the back bench, front and rear tower strut bars, c pillar bar, and trunk brace since this would be ghetto cheap. (unless anyone advises against this?) probably next would be a nice set of tires depending on the level of the used ones that come w/the car. next would be the higher cost things on the list that i hope you guys make for me

get an itr rear swaybar, shocks, and good tires such as azenis to help your suspension. dont do those "lil" mods until later, because they have very minimal effect on the suspension characteristics of the vehicle. i think youre a little paranoid though..integras dont flip over all the time. but yes, in case it happens, a four point rollbar, with 6 point harness properly mounted should protect your melon.
where exactly does a 6 point rollbar sit in reference to your head? also, can anyone provide any information about the racing seat part of the question? thankyou
First off if you are worried about flipping over on the street then you drive to hard and need to calm down.
There should be no need whatsoever for a cage on the street. If you AutoX or road race and your car doubles as a daily driver then I can see a need for it. Get some good suspension on your car and set it up well.
If you insist on having a bar then just get a 4 point, these bars will only occupy the back seat. Having a 6 point will run a bar over your head and if you were to flip over or get into an accident that sent your body moving around you would smash your head against the bar even with some good padding. roll bars and cages are meant for people wearing helmets. A 4 point would help your car from caving in but like I said before, you are driving like an idiot if you are afraid of flipping over.
About the seats, do some research , do a search for "racing seats" on google or "recaro" or even search this board.
Peace
