ok i swapped out my engine in my car a 89 crx si with a b16a the engine came out of a running car so i know its good, it came out of a 91 hf, i belive the problem is in the wiring, im using the harness that was on the motor, the wire colors are different colors in the round plug up in the driverside rear of the engine bay, i belive this is the wiring for the injectors, the car act like its not getting fuel, when i try to start it the ecu throws code 15 (ignitor) but i know im making spark, also i have no idea where any of the vacuume hoses hook back up i wouldnt think that would cause it to not start, im pretty sure its electircal, tia joe....

 

Check the ground on the thermostat housing. Number one Swap Killer.

 

you're supposed to use your stock SI harness, then wire up VTEC, knock sensor and anything else. your b16a harness WILL NOT work in your SI. good luck.

 

if it came out a 91 hf...is the harness on it from a 91 hf or the og harness? i had this stupid problem 2 days ago.. use your og engine harness that came with your car and wire all extras independently...

BTW::like kincaidcrxsi said..check all your grounds! very crucial to the whole electrical system. make sure they are clean.

ehhh never mind got it going, i swapped out the harness it had to the one from the si's original engine, problem solved, even though it was a pain in the ***
