how long has this lated in teg's. ppl. say they die after about 8 months and others have had electrical shorts, even burnt harnesses. anybody done this with success? or are the 9006 ss the way to go?

 

I ran SS for 11 months before the pass just burned out. I ran all new wiring fused to the battery just to prevent any possible loss in juice to the bulb. I replace the burned out bulb with some GE 9005 blue bulbs from Walmart ($20-$25 for the pair) So now I got 1 SS and 1 GE in there... they look the same. The other SS has been going over a year now.

 

I've heard as long as a year, and as short as a few days. The 9005 Cool Blues seem like a more economical option.

 

i have piaa super whites...the best thing ever...lik 80 bucks...but lasted well over 5 years.

 

piaa extreme whites going on 6 months now...but would not buy them again...waiti for them to burn out to try the ss conversion...good luck

 

I had 9005 bulbs for well over 1.5 years (started w/ cool blues, used Silverstars for 4 months, put the same cool blues back in, then one cool blue finally burned out 2 days before I got my HID).
