fuel pump problem?
SO I dropped a B16A into my 89 crx. got it running. (still haven't wired up vtec) but at least she runs.
She started right up on the first try. Shut it down for a phone call. A couple minutes later I turned it on again. Fired right up. Let her run for about 30 minutes jsut listening to her purrrr. Turned it off, another phone call. 2 minutes later I tried to fire it up again but got nothing.
tried again
and again
. nothing. Decided to take a shower and call it a night. Well I couldnt sleep so I thought I'd try it again. fired right up
! Took her for a drive, not too much fun without vtec, but she ran fine. Gt home shut her down.
Thought I'd fire her up one more time to 'just make sure'. Lo and behold, she didn't want to start.
The only thing I can think of is the fuel pump. why? Because when she sarted up I could hear the pump switch on behind my seat. but shen she didn't start I never heard the sound.
I just don't really know what going on because it seems that it starts fine when its cool. but once its hot, it doesn't want to start.
Anyone have any clue whats wrong?
Thanks
JT
..hope I didn't confuse anyone.

it sounds like your main relay is bad. replace that and see if your car starts after being warmed up.
ill second that!check all the wiring too, maybe somethings loose if it works then doesnt then works again.

third that
its weird i had an 89 dx hatch that never ever had that problem. I now own an 89 Crx Si that still does it occasionally even after i bought a new one.

thanks for the help guys,
Where would I find the main relay? Is it a fuse? I'm not to good at electicals and wiring.
Thanks again

Its on the Driver kick panel, Kinda rough place up under the dash sides. Its brown and will say main relay. If you take the coin (junk)holder out you can see it. For a quick fix you can usually take a screwdriver and tap it a few times and its a easy fix if it leaves you stranded. I would fix it seriously though. I also agree with the main relay by the way

here is a good how-to to replace the main relay.
