Default eibach pro-kits vs stock springs, how different?

i have looked around for a while on researching what springs to get, and narrowed it down to eibach pro-kits (i think so far ), but the more opinions, the better.

i was reading an archived post where people were saying the pro-kits were
"too soft", and it just made me think, cause i definetely want "tighter than stock", and just needed someone to confirm this for me, ................are they noticeably tighter than stock springs on a 90 crxsi??? ...........or not

btw, i just use it mainly for daily driving, but i drive hard when nobody is around late at night , so basically i want best of both worlds, a little comfort, and a little tight sportiness for fast, sharp cornering.

i am asking this, cause i was just about to finally order them this week, since i have finally saved enough cash, but if they are too soft, then i would'nt want them.

but remember, i still don't want a harsh ride, cause there are a lot of torn up roads around dallas, also nice smooth roads, but you never know which roads you end up on, so i need something that compensates for both.

any tips would help me know how the pro-kits are, so i can buy them without worrying, thanks

if you don't want a harsh ride, then the pro-kits are the way to go. if you end up not getting the pro-kits, make sure that the rear spring is progressive and not linear for whatever spring kit you buy. linear rear springs will give a harsh ride.

the eibach pro-kit lowers the car 1.3" (well for the 99 teg application for sure).

i have them for daily driving on my 91 si and i love them. there was a lot of improvement over stock. i found i could corner at MUCH higher speeds without feeling like the car was loosing control. i also installed some kyb agx adjustable shocks about a month later and i found they compliment the springs REALLY well. if your stock shocks arent bad yet, you might be ok, but if you have an extra $300 i'd say go for the shocks while you're at it.

that last comment is exactly what i was looking to here, cause i was going to get AGX's also.

my car (90crxsi) already seems so low just stock, especially when i am at a stoplight surrounded by trucks and regular family cars, and it might feel really weird when i get the pro-kits, but i guess i would get used to it, since its only an inch difference.\

shox.com gave me a quote (in nov2002) saying 4 KYB AGX = $339, and eibach pro-kit = $179 (for a 90 crxsi)

and thats what i was planning on getting, and i finally saved enough cash to get it, but i emailed them back to ask if those quotes were still valid , but have'nt heard back from them yet, i plan to give them a call

My experience with shox.com is that as long as you have a quote #, even if they raised the price, you're still cool.

Pro-kit/AGX combo was very popular when the 99-00 Si's were brand new. At least on those cars, it was *THE* perfect drop for most people, as long as they didn't want to go too low.

The lower-than-other-cars feeling in a CRX is quite normal - you'll get used to it!

AGX s + ProKit the drop varies from car to car..usually between 1 1/3" to 1 1/2" s..they re about 15% stiffer than stock..as such set ur AGX setting s at #1 in the rear and #2 up front..remember though the drop up front on the pros is a bit steeper than the rear..why? i don t know..but on some car s its really weird looking

Get the Koni Yellows, 5 way adj on stiffness/softness and hight adj... And front +1 degree camber kit such as the ingalls for 100 bucks... and spacers on the rear to add + .5 degree on teh rear camber... All these = a great ride beter than any KYB things.

I have Eibach Pro-Kit with Tokico Blues. Looks/handles great and still soft enough for daily driving. The only thing is I can fit 2 fingers on 3 wheels but my rear, driver-side wheel I can't fit 2 fingers. It's close, but I can't fit 2 fingers in the gap. It's also noticeable just looking at it, which is why I tested all the other wheels in the first place. I didn't do the suspension work on the car so help an ignorant brotha out here

I'm guessing the front springs were installed in the back on the drivers side and back springs in the front on the drivers side. That would account for it, I suppose. ****, how do I know for sure?
