Well this is starting to make me laugh just a bit.It all started when my Meng manifold cracked and I had to get it repaired, then it cracked again a couple of days ago......Well tomorrow is my B-day and I had planned to get my manifold fixed b/c i have off from work. Well I decide to drive my car to the gym before I hang out with my g/f and when i was leaving my car had sounded like a valve was tapping. I pull over to check it out and it was to dark (i was on the side of a highway) so I baby the car to a gas station near by and pop the hood And HOLY **** MAN, My f*@king wastegate runner on the manifold cracked off!!!!!! My wastegate was hanging on by a vacume hose. I am so pissed right now I'm starting to wanna give up on my car it seems like I am always fixing it. Oh well......just had to vent, pics will be posted later on by internet ay. Oh and I was actually planning on going to the Philly dyno on Sat. but thats not gonna happen now. - Evan

why dont you just get rid of that meng, and get the fully re-engineered spark racing units! They are a completely different design and meant to last! Theyve never had one crack yet! <insert sarcasm here>

sorry bro, if you decide to take your car apart again, let me know and send me the mani, i will gusset the living crap out of it and it might still crack but maybe it would last a little longer? I have a few ideas that could help, but throwing it into a busy intersection is still an option... sorry

 

and to believe there were like 10 dealers pushing that manifold at one time on this site. at least we know now. anti-meng manifold brigrade is in full force from now on. friends dont let friends run meng mani's.

 

Yeadh dude and that was just a week ago. I really hope that for the newb's sake nobody bought the Meng or the knock offs during the "tubular manifold for cheap" craze.

Lesson:
Choose parts that work, no matter the price. If you buy cheap parts, or the price seems too good to be true, it is.

Damn Geoff, I even remember you telling me that this manifold probly wont last as soon as I start the car. Should have took your word on it and just had you make me a manifold then. Hey at least I got 3 months use out of it to Meng manifolds.........anybody selling a good manifold?

Did you buy the manifold for SPARK.?? is this the short runner one or the long runner one. i very sorry to here that the wastegate fell off.. thats sucks... some members of honda-tech in the drag racing forum have dynoed both the Spark racing manifolds and the t3 manifold with GSR motor maded 280whp on a brand new dyno jet at 5 psi of boost.. Myles Bausista if REVHARD MFG was there too witness the incredible pull you can call them to verify.. the Dynojet is located at TRACKMASTERS in valencia,Ca ..the T4 manifold (STREET CAR)maded over 600+ whp and both manifold have been on the car for over 3 months .. i dont understand why yours has cracked.. please IM or email Sparkracinginc on this board...once again im sorry that this happened to you

 

its not the spark manifold. the only thing that saved the wastegate from being lost forever is the vacuum line. it was dangling by it.
