Default How can you convert a crx to 5 lug? and actually do it right?

wanting to go 5 lug, more wheels to choose from that way, would like them to be wider. Anyone know how to do this? what to get? from what car? how much? Any one else tried this?

Thanks

Please, Please, Please search, been talked about many times. I will even add some info so you dont have to serach to far.

-info: Its really simple. The only thing you need other than what is on the CRX is 94+ integra outer tie rod ends. The rear trailing arms are the same. Just change the whole trailing arm, it bolts up to all the crx control arms. For the front just put on the Type R spindles and the 94+ integra outer tie rods. Then just do up the bolts and bleed the brakes.I used the original crx axles and the spindles were the Type R spindles.

Just like that but with the 90-91 EX kunckles and only the 90-91 EX spindles.

because da knuckles will throw off your geometry, but i hear nobody really has problems. But i don't know. 90-91 ex knuckles are hard as hell to find.

has anyone tried to get prodrive 5 lug hubs? would they might make it so you dont have to change anything other than the hub...might be cheaper and easier than finding parts from 2-3 different cars...

Braking is the only thing I would want it for.

if you want it for breaking.. just get a wilwood 11" kit or a fastbrakes 11' kit..

Or if you want the bling effect use the type r suspention.. you need to buy a camber kit.

All you have to do is change the upper mount on the front suspention to the crx uppermounts.

And put the camber kit on where the upperball joint is. You have to have the upperball joint type of camber kit. Like skunk 2 camber kit or something that is like that.

Then you just bolt the R knuckles and hubs to that.. Its easy. Then just get an alignment. The rear suspention is bolt on an go. Make sure you use some good dot4 high temp fluid and bleed the brakes a few times.

I have 92 si front suspention on my car right now cuz my stock crx si stuff blew a wheel bearing. And I need to be able to run 13" slicks. It mounts the same as R suspention

so you are saying that

92-95 civic/integra spindles, won't mount up to the upper control arm of the CRX?

One more thing about that geometry stuff that you guys have been talking about. does anybody have proof that they'll throw off your geometry? Has anyone done it yet? Does anybody have an alignment print out to show that the geometry is going to be out?

Well basically when you lower your car you changing your geometry too!

In my opion if you are so worried about your geometry keep it stock!
(oh yeah bigger wheels will throw off your geometry too!)

And I think that the if geometry problem can be fixed with a camber kit.

Just my 2 cents!

The Fastbrakes 4 pot kits cost the same as a five lug convertion.

The 92-95 and 94+ integra will mount to the upper mounts but.. You need a camber kit for the ammount it will be off.. I have it on my car and with out a camber kit when u jack the car up.. the wheels tip out alot.. for the ammount of money people spent on the bling factor of 5 lug they can get 4 pot wilwoods and stainless lines plus wheels.

I'm doing an ITR 5-lug swap on my 90 CRX Si right now.. I have the front completely bolted up and on and I am just finishing the back up right now.. a buddy of mine did the swap before and used the complete ITR front knuckle assembly and said he had no problems once it was lowered and aligned.. so i'm in not really worried but I am going to buy a front camber kit just to cover my *** and make sure it's all ship shape..

Latz

I'll try and post some pics soon when it's done..

5 lug pattern has more even pressue to the rotor...it translate to more even hp deliver, better braking, less vibration, less rotor warp...etc...

why do you thing 18 wheelers has zillions lugs on them??

my friend just did the 92-93 integra gsr brakes front and back on his 90 Si HB and it threw off the geometry a little. he lowered the car and fixed the camber/caster with a camber/caster kit and the geometry is just as good as stock. Just some info for those people who are scared to do the front integra brake swap due to off geometry. BTW my cousins 91 CRX Si also has the complete integra brake swap with no problems after he lowered it and use the camber/caster kit.

Okay yeah this **** is way old, but I dont care. Im about to do the 5 lug and have gotton many different ppl that say different things:

1. I need to get DA, SiR, or 90-91 EX knuckles and have the ITR hubs machined and pressed into the DA, SiR, or 90-91 EX knuckles. The rear bolts up just fine, but I need longer ebrake cables

2. Its all bolt on and to fix the geometry porblems of the ITR knuckles all I need is a camber kit and an alighnment up front. The rear is all bolt on and 90-91 CRX Si ebrake cables are already long enough.

Someone please help me out as I'm about to put this on my car as soon as I get some guidence in the right direction.
