Default Chassis stiffness.

How many of you with a bolt in 4-point cage noticed a difference in the ridgidity of your chassis. I have a 98 hatch that creeks and squeeks like a mo fo. I can tell there is quite a bit of flex going over bumps. I am going to get the Kirk racing cage in a couple of weeks and was just curious how much it will help in this area?

Your chassis is not stiff enough if you find that the car does not respond correctly to suspension tweaking. Do you have that problem?

a 4 point bolt-in can only do so much in terms of rigidity... i think it's more of a safety item. remember, it's only tieing the rear section of your car together. with a higher percentage of your car's weight over the front wheels, it may not be where you car is flexing the most.

if you're looking for rigidity, a well designed full weld-in cage is the way to go.

if you're mostly autocrossing, it might not be worth the weight. but if you're wearing a harness at the racetrack, it'd be a good idea for safety.

i have an autopower 4 point in my car for rollover protection at the track events.. at autox, i take out the cross/harness bar to save weight.

.RJ I don't really mind the noise, it is just a question out of curiosity more than anything.

So far I haven't

Maybe I am giving you guys the wrong impression. I am not purchasing a cage for the sole purpose of making my chassis more ridgid. I was just curious if it did indeed have any sort of an effect?
