Default zc gurus...question for ya

is usdm ZC's same as jdm ZC's? I mean besides the compression and all. Can i directly swap in usdm zc's into my crx instead of paying top bucks for jdm zc's?

Only Europe has the d16a8/a9. In the US we had the d16a1 in the early integras up until 1989. The d16a1 only has around 115 hp and will not bolt into the ed chassis without some custom fabrication

thank you. this is what i'm wondering. You can find those d16a1 motors in junkyard all over cheap as hell and how come nobody uses that motor?

the d16a1 does bolt into a 1st gen crx or 3rd gen civic, though.

The U.S. D16A1 DOES NOT bolt up into a 2nd gen CRX or 4th gen hatch. The drivers side mount is completely different. I had both engines side by side, my JDM ZC and my D16A1, they are different. While my ZC was being built i was gonna throw in the D16 for the mean time cause i got it cheap. But it doesn't work , so i ended up sellin it to my buddy with a 89 teg.
