Resistor box, a question concerning swap...
OK I just read a post that says OBD1 does not use an injector resistor box - I have a 90 DX (which will have to be converted into MPFI) but the resistor box is needed for this correct? but if OBD1 does not use the resistor box, there would be no point? I don't understand, can someone please clear this up for me
BTW - Swapping a D16Z6

if u stay OBDO u need to convert to MPFI and add a resistor box
if u go OBD1, u still need to convert to MPFI but u dont need a resistor box
if u go OBD1, u still need to convert to MPFI but u dont need a resistor box
k when u convert to OBD1 u need a harness conversion.. Blown_90_hatch ha sthem for real cheap
basically uy need to change the ECU plug... also the dizzy needs to be repined, the injextor resistor needs to be removed...
u will be able to run P28,etc
its better, but more costly... its all up to ya

it also depends on which injectors you run, and how you want your vtec to activate.
the injector resistor box drops the voltage to the obd0 injectors, they wouldn't work without the box. obd1 injectors run at full voltage, they wouldn't work WITH the box.
The best thing to do with a Z6 is convert to obd1, (using an adapter harness from blown90hatch or someone else) then you can use the z6 ECU, injectors, and distributor.
If you left the car obd0, you would need an 88-91 Si or EX ECU, injectors, inj res box, and distributor. plus you would need an rpm switch or vtec controler.

i'll try to add some info to help as well...
the dpfi has wiring for only 2 injectors. when you go to obd1 with the z6, you still need to add wiring for the other 2 injectors to get to mpfi. basically you won't need to wire in the injector box when adding the 2 other injectors.
does that make sense?

yes it all makes sense now, one more question - if I was to buy this harness from blown90hatch, your saying all I have to do is use a 92-95 civic distributor and this would be plug and play? with the p28 ecu

have to re-pin the diz with the harness I made have to at least. If your gonna stick with you OBD0 injectors nothing changes with the resistor box. If you go with OBD1 you need to remove the injector box and rewire. All ECUs are made for high (saturated Injectors) impediance injectors, even if you stick OBD0 you can use 92+ injectors just use no resistor box
