You cant drive? That could be part of the problem. A friend ran friday at the track a crx with jdm b16 and ran 16.4 And that was his first time ever running the car at the track and with vtec messin up at half track.
I don't think much is that wrong with your motor. 3.373 is the worst 60ft time I've ever seen, and that has a lot to do with the driver. The other valuable number is your trap speed. 89mph isn't great, but you should be able to gain a couple mph if your 60ft goes down. I've read that every .1 you take off of your 60ft is .2 off your 1/4, which means you should have that car in the low 15s.
The launch is everything in our cars. Did you just dump the clutch and spin at the line? What kind of clutch? What tires are you running? I think these are what you should concentrate doing. rev to 3-4krpm and let the clutch out slowly to try and keep the rpm there while your getting traction. Once you get traction, you aren't far away from the vtec powerband and you should be on your way to a good run.

I've only ran my B16 CRX 3 times at the track and I ran a 16.2, 15.8, and then a 15.1. Now it wasn't my first time at the track, but it was my first with my CRX.
Like someone said earlier, it's all about the takeoff. I changed my method each run, and you can see the result. I ended up launching at 2.5.

WOW!You need to werk on your 60 ft. times the most. Your mph is not to bad tho, just practice and the times will get alot better!I ran a 15.2 my first time at the track and now with the same setup run 14.2 to high 13's at around 97 mph.1990 hb w/b16a and header and exhust. And i might add it's only about 1800 pounds
i ran 15.9 @ 86mph...
with just intake on my SOHC VTEC
and i had a 2.3 60ft.
i say u dont know how to drive and et off the line.. sorry nuttin personal but its ok if it was ur first time.
just fix ur 60 ft and u will see differences

Drop that 60'. That is killing you. Other than that just practice and practice some more. My best time with the b16a in my 4dr was 14.8@94 with just i/e. I could have done better but my launches kind of suck.
It is the launch that is killing your times and the engine is not at fault in this situation.

What RPM is suggested for launching a b16 crx? I'm pulln pretty shitty times right now as well and I know for sure it's my launch that's causing it.
Drivetrain setup: Centerforce dual friction and Spoon flywheel
Tires and Suspension: Kosei K1, YokoA520, Tokico struts w/ ST springs dropped 1.2"
I read off a site that slippn it arond the 3000-3500 mark will provide for good results but at that mark there's still slippage occuring, but if i go lower i loose a lot of time getting my rpm up the band

your 60ft is ridiculous...its not your motor, its youd driving...and i thought my 2.6 60ft my first time was bad...go practice your lauches ...your good for at least a 15.0
2.923 and 3.373 second 60 foot times? And I thought I was bad because I ran 2.5-2.7 second 60 foot times when I started going to the track! You REALLY need to look for ways to get these times down! Are you running stock 13 inch tires or some other crappy setup? This could be the reason for your problems. Someone else mentioned the trap speeds. These are also on the low side. And they could be caused by your poor launches. But then again, it could be other things. For instance, what RPM are you shifting at? With a B16A, you should get as close to the rev limit as possible. And the shift should be done as quickly as possible so as to spend the least amount of time possible without power.
Its a 1990 hb w/a 1st gen b16,for some reason its a REALLY strong motor!
All i have in the car is my del sol seats and my dash which is home to some jdm goodies
I stripped everything out the car ,like the sound **** on the floor"30 pounds" and cut about 100 more pounds of metal that was just in the way. Then i repainted it all and it looks great...And i might add thos times were on street tires and pretty sorrie 60 ft. times "2.3"...
but hope i answered your question...

Dude, just because you can't ******* drive, don't go knocking a motor that a lot of people have. Learn how to ******* drive, THEN determine if the motor sucks or not. If you're running the 1/4 mile in 17 seconds with a ******* b16, there is either SERIOUS mechanical problems, or you have absolutely no ******* clue what you're doing. Research a little more before making a thread talking **** about the b16. You should be running mid-high 14's...jesus, this **** pisses me off
