Default Question regarding my Si hatch

I have a 92 Si hatch slammed to the ground that bottoms out everytime I go over a little bump. It has a intake that wasn't meant to fit the throttle body, and a ******* piece of **** focuz muffler.

Now, the car is ******* loud and vibrates a lot and is extremely annoying. Is this normal for a regular after market to do?

I want to get a full piping Apexi n1 muffler with 2.5" piping. For now though I want to take that stupid Focuz muffler off and put a stock muffler one, take off the intake that wans't meant to fit and put a regular stock hose/box.

Is the muffler making the car vibrate like **** when I pound it or is that normal?

If I get full piping and a professional job, will my car be ok and not vibrate and sound like its ******* loud as loud can be?

I already have Illuminas that are going onto some Skunk2s this coming week sometime. Man that **** is loud.

damn man....take it easy on him...he was asking for help...not comments...sheeesh.

Psychotic, to answer your question:
i don't know what kind of suspension setup you have on your hatch, but i suggest getting rid of it. save up $$$, like $1,000 and get a Tein setup for your ride. you won't regret it. it's worth the money. next, don't get the N1 muffler setup...it is VERY LOUD. if you think your car vibrates a lot now, wait 'til you put on the Apex setup...it's gonna vibrate and be very loud at the same time...you're gonna go deaf. i don't know what your setup is under the hood but if it's a stock motor right now, save the $$$ and get a swap or build up a LS/VTEC setup or something. hope this helps out...

what the hell did that guy just say? dont listen to him. first off your exhuast is gonna be lou, no matter waht if its aftermarket, specially the apexi. as for intake, why doesnt it fit right? look in the classified section for an intake that fits or on ebay. and dont drop the car so much. stick w/ the d series it's cheaper in the long run man. put a greddy kit on it and run 13's all day. no ls **** that gay

I admit i went hard on this lad. But hey dont those mods some half assed?

Anyways "psychotic" that comment was not ment to be takn seriously. First things first. Get your self a good spring/shock combo. I also wouldnt waste any time with that intake that doesnt fit.

yea you should look into a better suspension set up...I have eibach springs that lowers my car 2.25 inches and its not to bad around bumps etc...If you want something loud, go with the Apex N1 but 2.25 inches will probally be better unless you have crazy internal work and stuff like that, in that case go with the 2.5.....

Like I said or at least I thought I said I already have a set of Tokico Illuminas waiting to be installed on top of some Skunk2 coil overs. But the muffler sucks man. It's just a Focuz muffler and nothing else. Not even any piping. And in fact I think theres a bunch of exhaust leaks somewhere along the entire exhuast system. And to the guy who said it sounds like a shitty job of installation and what not, you're probably right. I bought the car from someone who already had all of these mods done to it. I never installed anything on this car. Tomorrow I will be installing the Tokicos, so I can't wait.

Thanks for the advice fellas.

Dont get the Skunk2 coilovers, they are extremly bouncy. Look at a set of ground control coilovers. Best thing about them is you can get them in just about any spring rate. For suspention, lowing a civic more than 2 inchs is pointless and does nothing for handling. Spend the money for a decent suspention set up.

For exhaust, look at the Apexi WS instead of the N1, it is much quieter but still gives a decent amount of performance. Also look at a thermal cat back. I have a thermal universal muffler with 2.25 piping and i am very happy with it. If they actually made a cat back for the Sol, i would have gone that route.

skunk 2s have a hard rebound even with aftermarket shocks, you need something with a little less damper
