Default Car doesn't crank......

Went to start my Integra today and it doesn't crank. There is power but the car doesn't crank. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

how much power is there? I would check the battery voltage, battery contacts, battery fluids level, then the starter.

Check for voltage at your starter connections. Then check for continuity between the starter and its ground. My friend's ground cable to starter corroded too much and wasn't letting it get any juice. They replaced the starter 3 times before they figured it out.

Do you hear anything at all when you turn the key? Do you hear a faint clicking? Do your accessories's lights turn off?

If so, check your main engine grounds like the others said. Check the main harness ground near the thermostat.

Also...just whack the end of the starter hard with a hammer. Actually, that sometimes works if the starter is a bit old or it's cold outside.

Good luck.

sounds good there, also check any recent wiring you might have done like alarm related stuff.

I do hear a slight "click" but the car doesn't crank and start. All it does is "click". I had experience this before, like at least a month already but all I did when this happen was just kept turning the key and it will evetually start.......until today. The dam things just keeps on making a "click" sound and won't start. I do have a DEI alarm installed on my Integra but that's been like a year, so I doubt it's that. I'll check the harness tomorrow morning and give the starter a whack with a hammer.

If that doesn't work, does it mean it's the starter?

if power and connections is good, sounds like a starter... especially if wacking the starter helps

Sounds exactly like the starter ground. It got me for a week once. Check it first. Also check clutch positioning sensor

There is a SPADE connector to the starter, and a POWER connection. Sounds as if you SPADE connector has come off.

Ok, it's the STARTER. I checked the ground harness, the battery terminals (pos. was lose, had to put a piece of metal between the terminal and battery post to secure it tight.) I supect the terminal being lose shorted my starter and thus killed it. I also check the starter fuse and gave it a jump start. Nothing work until I wacked the starter a few times with a long metal stick. The car then starter. THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP!

Anyone know where I can get a rebuilt or remanfacteur starter for a decent price? DOn't want to pay $200+ for one at my local auto-part store.
