I'm curious- what are the advantages of having a K20 in the car? Other than saying you have it in there, wouldn't a CRVTEC be just as, if not faster, and a helluva lot cheaper, since K20s probably aren't as common as the B20s?

Does the performance of the K20 outweigh the extra cost of finding a that motor, the mount kit, and swapping to OBDII (or is it III?) vs. bolting in a CRVTEC?

im pretty sure you cant fin a k20 for less than 10,000$ good luck with that, i'd just build a serious b-series too.

probably because it costs too much to do that stupid swap.
i dont want anyone to say "well its faster or it will be fast bla bla" because the facts remain. it will cost at LEAST 7000$ to do that swap.
and ill take a boosted b18c1 for that price.

it will cost almost 7k to do an itr swap and mounts are included. id defintely expect in excess of 10K for a k20 when all is said and done... and what is the wiring like?

At the current price for everything, the only advantage the K20 has vs and equivalently priced B-series setup would be bragging rights.

IAS is charging 6200 before shipping for b18c5, even osaka crap would be over 4500 shipped. if you find me a k20 for 5grand ill do that swap without a second thought, bragging rights would have nothing to do with it but 200+ hp would.

edit: osaka does not supply a complete swap either and you need to buy linkage, axels, and usually all the other **** they leave out of the order "by accident".

for the engine swap itself, not the custom goodies needed to shoehorn it in... http://www.passwordjdm.com/passJDM.htm "and for those of you who are looking for K20-R swaps, they are in!!! $4999.00 "

K20's do not go for that much- you can find a K20A for 6k, K20A2s a little less than that, it is the custom work that is needed to swap the motor into the car that makes the total price of the swap shoot to around 10k

Really?

5000K shipped at least. Now add up a new clutch, flywheel resurface (might as well buy a lightweight one), water pump, belts, hoses, filters, and all the fluids you'll need. You'll be at 6K easy, and thats doing it yourself.

K20 would be a bragging rights type motor right now give it another year when there has been time for it to become more common and more researched.

For now best money is in the H22A swap

its just another newer type r motor, not that type r is nothing special, but why do go and spend all that cash when you can have a teg r motor for 4200.
