Default Prelude for sale, opinions needed,

I have the opportunity to buy a
2001 Honda Prelude for 19,000
It has 7k miles and still has a 3 year warranty.
It is not the SH model, but has sunroof ect.
Any opinions on the price are welcome. It is like a silver.

I've seen them go for a lot more than that...

Do what you want man. But I'd get it.

According to NADA:

AVERAGE RETAIL: $19950
AVERAGE TRADE-IN: $17475

Being a car salesman myself, if I were buying, I would like to be around $18700. That way I'm in between Retail and wholesale value of the car. Thats just me. It also depends on how high of a demand the Prelude has in your local area. If its at a dealership I would say they have $16500 in the vehicle and will except no less than $18200. Again, just my .02

on POSlude97.

What purpose does your post have? $300 can make a big difference. That is my RENT payment. sheesh.

Arsenal - That is a good price for a BRAND NEW Prelude. I don't care what area you are living in. If you like it, take it. But you will likely have to add tax onto that I imagine, which will come out to another $2000 or so.

Good luck!

The thing is my girlfriend use to have a 97 red SH which she totalled and i loved the car,
But this one is at a dealership (Chevy) and I have already talked them down from 21000-19000, checked with Kelly blue book and said 21000?
Does anyone also know how long a bank can fince on a 01?

Don't go for a longer finance period than 60 months. You'll get seriously ripped.

19000 is a good deal, they WILL add tax onto it. Don't let them talk you into buying anything extra, ie alarm, extra warranty, etc. Try to get at the highest a 6% loan, less if you can.

The more you put DOWN, the better deal they will give you. You can use a credit card to do a down payment, but the credit card APR may be too high. My advice is to generate a payment scheme in MS Excel to see what kind of options you have.

POSLude, reread my post. I said around $18700. And maybe I should make myself more clearer, IF I could get the car for $19000 with tax, title, and licensing I probably would buy it. If not I am going to haggle for as much as I possibly can. And when I said $18700 I meant on the road no hidden fees. Example: My car a 1996 Honda Prelude VTEC with 60000miles has a NADA retail of $12150 and a Trade In of $10150. I bought the car for $10800 plus tax and title. So if I could get them to accept an offer of $18200 plus tax and title yes I would buy the car. Now if $800 is not alot of money to you then I'll give you my mailing address and you can share the wealth. See your the type of customer I love to work with because I can make a ton of money on you. But I forgot, to you its just MONEY.

Forgot to add. When I bought my car I paid no tax due to having a total loss statement for my old car in the amount of $12135. All I paid was $129.50 doc fee, $79 for license fee, and $5 for tiltle fee. For a grand total of $11013.50.

So POSLude, if your ever in Minot, ND and you are in need of a vehicle you come see me. AIGHT.

if you had a problem with me why respond to 2k1 itr?!?
anyway......maybe you should have made yourself more clear and this whole problem would have never started. i thought you meant talk them down another 300 bucks.....which i assumed he already talked them down cause it would be stupid not to, so why stress over three hundred, and no i dont have much money, which is why i dont have that many mods on my car. stop being a ***** and
1) make your post clear next time
2) give usefull info
3) stop wasting this guys thread with petty **** (which I need to do also)

Why edit your **** after i post????.....dont be scared old man
and you edited after i posted so you saw that i said i dont have alot of money, balah blah.....stop being dumb, do yourself a favor and post one more time flaming me and ill let you have the last word ok....is that ok with you e-tough guy?
and i wont ever buy **** from you when i got a hook up already, my cousins own two honda dealerships, and my godfather runs one of them.....why would i be in ND anyway, hick???
