Default big problemo

ok, so today i dropped the tranny (only) and installed new clutch. i hooked everything back up, and the **** wouldnt start, it did start a tiny bit for a sec, but it ran like ish! ecu is throwing code 9, which is #1 cyl position, i swapped out the distributor because i had an extra one around, and that didnt fix it. the only 2 wires that i disconnected when dropping the tranny were the o2 sensor and the reverse lights. it ran fine before i pulled it, what could be wrong? the only thing i havent checked is fuses, which i will do tomorrow, and since i had a backup battery for my alarm in the car, i definatly saw sparks when i grouned out the positive connection, but would a fuse cause this?

any help is greatly appretiated
TIA

if you saw sparks you might have blown a fuse.

no fuses blown, checked today, though i spotted something and was SURE that was going to be what was wrong ... in putting the trans back on, i pinched the wires for the cam angle sensor, so i took care of that, and still didnt work, i replaced the cam angle sensor and also the distributor, but it still doesnt start up, i checked for spark and only cylanders 1 and 4 are getting spark? what could be wrong? i have 2 heads, because i replaced my blown motor last month (zc) i've double checked everything. anyone have any ideas?

how would i check that?

is it possible that i put the cam angle sensor in backwards? or does it only fit in one way? ... same thing with the distributor, you know, how there's 2 slots, so if i rotated it 180 degrees ... would that cause this sort of problem?

once again TIA

edit: i'm at my house in school now (my other name on here)

TIA
