Revo makes a great one for the RSX, not sure if they have it for the SI. I'd wait until theirs comes out.

I think the only one out right now is the Neuspeed, but I think DC came out with one also.

Just get a different shiftknob. Believe it or not, but that will make shifts a lot shorter because most aftermarket will sit down a lot further on the shaft. The stock **** is too tall.

You're joking right? I mean, you can't be serious Mr. Mugen. Replacing the shift **** will make shifting easier (i.e. if you get e heavier ****), but it won't do a thing to shorten the throws!

Ummm, yes it does. Think about it for a second. You're reducing the length of a lever, therefore swept distance will be reduced for the same total amount moved at the attachment point.

Short shift kits do the same thing--they just move the attachment point closer to the end of the shiftknob.

Geometry is your friend.

wow....It's not the distance from the shift **** to the ball, it's the distance from the ball to the connecting point on the shifter to the shift rod. (BTW this doesn't apply to the RSX or the new Civic Si since they use a cable like the Preludes.)

BOTH distances matter in terms of how far your hand travels when making a shift from gear to gear. If you don't believe me, go install a shift **** that fits further down on the lever.

You sir do not know what you are talking about. Have you taken elementary physics? Reducing the lever length from either side of the rotational point will produce a shorter throw.

This is 100% correct. The throw is the distance from the shifter ball to the linkage. If you just change **** (which by the way, would only work if you bought a lower sitting shift ****), you would technically get a shorter shift, BUT the angle you would have to move the shifter would be exactly the same (you can get the same effect by just holding your stock shift **** lower ).. PLUS you would lose some leverage.

Good Luck in whatever you decide

the angle does stay the same, but the throw is determined by the arclength, not the angle.

I have a momo cobra carbon on my EP's shifter and the throws are much shorter - the throws are about the same length as with a short shifter on a b series.
