Default contacted curb, ideas??

I hit a curb because I found some unexpected road hazards on a curve and my wheels locked up like a biotch...anyway my steering wheel shakes now when I go above 30mph...it is not real bad...and there is no real visible damage except a torn up edge on the steelie, but who gives a damn about those? I would estimate my speed at 20mph...the side of the wheel hit the curb FYI, I will take it into a shop monday, but I wanted to know if you guys thought I tore up anything serious before I go in.
Thanks

could be multpile things

rim could be bent (most likely)
could have knocked wheel weight off (very likely)
could have bent suspension components(not that likely)

Could have knocked the car out of alignment (likely)
Could have bent some part of the suspension (likely, I did it myself!)
Could have done this:

current: /----\

I did the exact same thing, only I hit it slower (20 km/hr).

Heres the damage I did, u may have done the same

Bent front corssbeam
Bent the knucle
Bent Control Arms
Pushed in wheel bearing
Curbed rim

All together cost me 1000 Can. to get it fixed, U may not think u did much but as I found out it doesnt take much to bend a few things. All of the above were only slightly bent and didnt produce any noticeable problems with the steering.

My damage cost me 1200 Canadian, more stuff was bent on mine, I think they did some work on the frame too, which may not be included in ur parts price. My rim money went down the drain.

I dont get why chevy can give ABS as standard on even their crapiest POS cavaliers, and Honda cant offer them on their higher priced models as standard. Doesnt make any sense to me ?

Well thats my opinion

You have had some ruff times when it comes with cars, I was checking out your signiture. You are blessed cause you haven't gotten hurt. The reason y honda doesn't offer abs as standard is because they are trying to lower the bottom line and get max. profit.

Yeah I have had few bad experiences, it all happened within 6 months too. Luckily someone was watching over me. If you saw pics of the civic lx, Jeep, and camry u wouldnt have thought anyone would have survived.

I guess the one good thing is I got to enjoy some pretty nice cars in a short period of time. Best car for everything overall was the Jeep only problem was u floor it and u literally watch the gas needle drop then u cry as u fill up the 100 liter tank I love my current Accord cause its so much more affordable, and gets just as many looks.

Hey guys, I know you dont give a damn but I just thought I would update you. the total cost of my curb hitting is $1096.87 american!! This consisted of a
bent wheel $180
bent steering knucle $390
re-alignment $90
bent strut $210
wait a minute....how the hell does that add up to 1096??? even with tax
maybe they had to replace the control arm too...Ill get to the bottom of this!!!!!!! SCREW DEALERSHIPS!!!! that is what I get for wanting to keep my warranty good
why did you take it to a dealership they raped you on the strut and the rim i would have taken it to a alignment shop that has a frame machine

well...the guys at the dealership did give me a loaner car (free)...which made it worth it and gave me the opportunity to put in a weeks worth of work despite my car's condition...not to mention they detailed it, filled up the tank and put on my new plates at no charge
and they apparently replaced more parts than they told me about...labor was only about $310 of the total cost...ill put the real break down of the parts up now that I have it

yup, **** happens....

accords are heavy mothers... thats why u can bend stuff so damm easily w/o thinking you bent anyhting.

and 200 bux for a hub and bearing.... there like 70 bux from honda for god sakes... knuckle is like 20 bux when i got mine, u didnt need new shocks... u can get another steelie for 10 bux at the yard, damm man, who told you to bend over?? im sorry dood, time for you to purchase a haynes manual.... all that woulda taken u few hours and saved u tons and tons.

shop wanted 1500 whe i curbed both wheels on right side, i did it all myself, cost me under 300 bux

I dont know...for some reason I dont like to mess with suspension or those types of components...just one of those odd quirks of mine

OH...and I have a confession to make I sold my accord and bought a 2003 elantra 5spd...that is the car in question....I ran it into a curb the first day I had it...I guess I was used to really sticky tires and brakes that couldnt lock the wheels if they wanted to....the only reason I still post here is because I have a bit of residual knowledge from my honda that might help a few people out and I have not found a decent Hyundai forum...there is hyundaiperformance.com but they dont hold a candle to the wealth of info that is available here
