to shave, or not to shave? that is my question...
i'm having body work/paint done in the next few weeks. i have the option to shave the side moldings. here are some bad photoshops (yeah, i'm new at PS) of what i think it'll look like. thus question for all of you....

Um, personally I dont like color matched stuff to much. I think it is just a texture issue for me. So, if you are going to go color matched then I say shave 'em. But, then again, I really dont like shaved stuff either because a lot of people wont spend the money to get body work done *right* so the shave looks like poo a lot of time. So...if you got a good body guy shave em. If not, buy the CTR flat moldings for $225 a set and rock something that most people dont have.
Good luck

i like it when you take the moldings off and fill the holes more on an eg. the indent breaks up the body nicely. but if you dont want to do that, shaving and filling looks fine too.

Are you talking about filling up the channel or just shaving in the original mounting holes?
Filling in the whole channel looks nizzasty, mostly because nobody spends enough money to do it right.
Buy some new moldings cause the color matched stuff dotn work either. Get the JDM thin ones for $225 and call it a day.

I would actually suggest taking the mouldings off but only shaving the HOLES left behind, NOT the entire moulding and filling it in. I like the way CX hatches look with the moulding absent, but with the indent
and I would also change those mirrors...but I know you didn't ask about that

yeah, i have spoon style mirrors on the way
actually, i'm not going to shave anything. i'm leaving the OEM moldings, just painting them to match.

its really up to you, it is your car, but i on the other hand like the shaved look....i think it looks a lot sharper with just on body line on the doors...thats just me thought...dont have to agree
