NSX and S2K in Honda Challenge...
Rumor has it, there are a couple of NSX's and S2K's planning to compete in this season's Honda Challenge. Is this true? If so, does anyone have any pics or info on these cars?
i think they were just rumors.
also with the WCHC giving all of 2 weeks notice before the first race
they may not be fully legal for the HC rulebook.

There will be at least one s2k in MWHC, although not at the beginning of the schedule. It's being built... got paint today and getting a cage this week.

We were considering building an S2K for ECHC, SCCA, and GAC, but the GAC officials have S2K classing issues. They basically told us that we could build it, and race it, but he could "promise it would never be competitive". Maybe that's part of the reason some of those rumors/plans died, it caused us to switch to an RSX...
i think they said they were in the process of building another car first and were having problems getting that done anyway.
Once that was going, they were considering the NSX. IIRC.
I was approached by a racer @ the Thunderhill NorCal event. He was considering preping his NSX for Honda Challenge.

I thought about the S2000 in GAC a bit too and pretty much figured that it would not be competitive. Its an inbetween car, too fast for ST1 too slow for GSII. On paper it seems like it could do alright in GSII but when you realize the NSX is classed in there and that there's not a whole lot more power you could get out of the S2000's engine, you realize you will never win.
Still, it'll be interested to see the stook and NSX in HC. I'm especially interested in seeing what kind of speed people can get out of the S2000.

boo on S2K and NSX.
A properly built and well driven hybrid should be able to take care of them

Well the rules as they are written now certainly favor the hybrids, but it would have to be a very well built hybrid to roll a decently prepped nsx or stook. For the money the hybrid is a better bargain but I'd still rather see Honda's ONLY rear wheel drive cars racing than yet another hybrid hatch.
