my rex sometimes idles at 2grand sometimes it does it right when i fire it up,other times the needle jumps from 1k to 2 1/2k. what could be causing this, some people have told me that it might be the fuel injectors but i have no idea. what do you guys think. i just wanna be able to use this motor as long a possible until i save enough for a swap

it could be two things that have happend to my cuzins CRX that id be willing to bet that one or the other is the prob. 1. there is a certian vac/, diaphram on the dizzy that can give you erratic idle it looks like a lil can of snuff maybe a lil fatter. then there is a spring(on the carb) that heats up and expands when the engine warms up. that spring may be stickin a not expanding causing your car to stay @ that idle or higher. http://www.redpepperracing.com should be able to you help you more.

anyways Id be willing to bet that its one of those two things.. If its carb'd ne ways if its fuel injected check for codes on the ECU...

thanks for the info but its not a carburated engine so what else could it be other than what you said

 

did you check you ECU for codes and did you ask @ red pepper racing .com? they will be able to help you alot better then myself cause im still learnin bout the first gens. they will be able to help you out.
