Default What's your CR and how much boost are you running?

Here's my problem:
I had a set of Ross made which would yield me around 9.5:1 CR with 84mm bore in a B16a. Well the problem is now I am working with a B18C1 + ITR head with 84mm. According to the calculator on c-speed, this will give me 10.5ish:1 In my mind it's a bit too high to run high boost 15-20psi.

This car would be a "daily driver" and not race only.

Your thoughts?
thanks,
-S

My comp is 10.2:1 comp @ 21psi.

Compression is good if it's well tuned.

I ran 11:1 compression on a b16a for awhile. I ran 8lbs daily, 14psi on race gas. Its was fast, spooled up the turbo quickly and was a blast to drive. Compression and boost is relative, so even though you are not going to be able run 20psi without c16 minimum you can run 10psi daily driven and make the same amount of power as an engine with 9:1 compressoin on 13-14lbs of boost. You will also have a greater torque curve, more area under the curve, etc. Your car will be faster in and out of boost, etc. I wish my 2.0 gsr was 11:1 compression now, i went with 9:1. Oh well, there is always another engine build up.

since we're on the topic of C/R and boost levels, i'll bring up something someone else said on another site the past few days. i mentioned running 12-15# of boost with 9.8-10:1 C/R with my future turbo setup, that's 93 octane fuel and a built motor. the other person said that you can't run more than 8 or 9# with 9.8-10:1 C/R and pump gas, on a T3/T4. also stated by this person was that Hondas are N/A cars, so why turbo them cause they won't take it even if they're built.

i stated that a stock B series can take 8 or 9# tuned correctly, so why would a built motor with the same or less C/R only be able to run the same amount of boost??

just wanted to bring up how some people think about turbo setups and Honda motors. i still plan on running 8-10# on the street and 14 or so at the track. that is of course if i ever get the motor back in.
