need help installing amp in a 98 prelude sh with stock deck
I want to install a JL 75x4 amp in my car, but for the time being wish to use my stock deck. I already know I need line converters to convert the low level preamp outs from the deck to RCAs for the amp, but how do i connect the amp to the accoustic system in the front and rear of the car? can i just dissconnect the existing accoustic feedback parts, and just wire the amp to the speaker terminals? I've read on here that the stock speakers are 2 ohm, is this true? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide. Also, I'm lookin for a LCD screen to mount flush in the dash (my guess would be a 6.4" diagonal screen) to mount in place of the tape and radio/cdplayer. so that it fills up both spaces in the dash. Touch screen would be nice, but not required. and I dont mean a sony screen, looking for just an lcd, no case, just screen, and controller board. If anyone knows where to find these that might fit, please let me know as well. Thank you

ok easy way to do it or harder? heh. The harder is run your own lines up front behind the radio, cut the lines from the plug that goes from your radio to your front speakers, and tag the lines you ran into the factory wiring. Rear speakers, unhook the lines connecting to the rear speakers, hook wires from your amp to speakers.
Easier, cut speaker lines going *INTO* acoustic feedback amp. run lines from the front channels of your amp to these speaker lines. Go behind the radio, cut rear speaker and front speaker lines out of harness, and connect the rear left to front left, and rear right to front right. Wiring to front speakers done without running your own lines. Run wires from rear channel out of your amp right to the rear speakers. Done.
With the rear speakers being 2 ohm you have nothing to worry about. Most 4 channel amps can run at 2 ohms a channel just fine. Just turn the gain down to the rear channels as the 4 channel amp will put more power out to the 2 ohm speakers than the 4 ohm
