Well, here's the deal. My DX was driven by my 60year old mother for 8 years and it's in mint condition. Mint condition except it blows blue smoke out the tail pipe by the bucket loads. Just recently it has gotten bad, so a swap seems in order.
This is a daily driven car and will remain so. I can't afford to have it breaking down...etc and stranding me in the middle of nowhere. Thus, is a swap (B16) out of the question?
Hit me up with your thoughts/opinions. I know a hybrid is always gonna be a work in progress but how many of you use them as daily drivers?

Not a big problem...get it fixed...I'm sure it's still a reliable car...
If you really want to do a b16 swap...it'll be just as reliable as the factory engine, if not more, so long as the installation is done right. That's why I chose an old Honda, you can do a cheap, easy, and reliable swap...

Sometimes it just takes a while to work out a few lil things or "bugs". I am always listening to my car still to make sure it doesnt make any weird noises. Had some bad luck with a few things since the swap was done, but more or less problems with friends helping me work on it, nothing wrong with the motor or car itself. Other than that seems very reliable, my main transportation at colllege.

Do the swap.
I was in the same boat as you. Main transportation, daily driver, didn't really have time to play the "tuning" game and toyed with the idea of just rebuilding the stock motor when it went "if it ever went". Mine's an '89 Hatch Si that I owned since '92 with 23K on it and in Sept of '02 with 156K on it, it finally let go.
Once I completed the swap and figured out the vacuum lines (thanks HT users!) there were no codes and no other problems.
It'll make your car fun again! Do the swap. Get the motor from a reputable supplier that won't leave you hanging after they've got your $$$.
