i put a new alternator in about a month ago, and now it makees a wet squeaky sound when you first start the car and then goes away, but basically from what i have read on other posts, i think my alt belt is loose.
so, i must of not tightened it enough, (it was my first alternator install)
when i put the new altnernator in, i pushed on the alt really hard towards the firewall, while tightening it really tight, and that was tightest i could do it.
what is the best way to tighten the alternator belt? cause i was pushing on it real hard, and then tightened it real quick with my other hand, but apparently that was'nt enough if its making that noise. any tips? thanks

get big screwdriver and wedge it in there and pry it back toward the firewall or use a pry bar.good luck oh and little belt dressing never hurt either
