My priorities:
1. Mod car for fun
2. AutoX
Please save the "work on driver skill first" speach for someone else. I'm not into AutoX THAT much. Its a fun time for me. I don't care whether I come in first or last. To me, modding my car doesn't revolve around AutoX.

With that being said, would I notice an improvement in aftermarket shocks like KYB AGX's or Koni's on stock springs? I am planning on doing the whole lowering deal when I save up money and do it the right way. Until then, I was wondering if I should throw on some koni's on my stock suspension. I dont' wanna rip apart my suspension if I'm not gonna notice a difference in handling or ride quality. What would you all recommend?

 

At least that way, your car will stay in Stock class for SCCA Solo II stuff and most other autox clubs.

I had aftermarket shocks and stock springs in my '85 Rx-7 and it made a world's difference compared to the stock shocks. Go for it.

 

shocks are an excellent upgrade and one that even n00bs can do without creating problems for themselves. it's also a mod that doesn't change your class, so you won't get bumped to street mod or d-mod for a meaningless modification.
