Default Those with Kirk Cages...

...happy with them? Complaints? Pros? Getting ready to pick up 4 cages and from what I have heard thus far, this is the way to go for bolt in/weld in - no budget for custom.

kirk vs autopower....

reason i went with kirk...they were sponsoring HC last year
and kirk said they could get me the cage in 2 weeks....
i was on a tight budget last year!!
in fact the cage arived 6 days after i ordered it!!! then i called up an told them i needed a window net....they threw that in for free!!! woo hoo

quality....i like it welds are good...

i have not driven a car with a weldincage in the car so i can not say which is better.....i tend to disagree with those that say weld in is the only way to go....i think a weld in cage would be more prone to ripping out the sheet metal where the cage attaches to the floor! why? well you have weld on the floor....just my thought....bolt in might not reinforce the chasis as much as a weld in but i believe it will be just as safe

i would go with kirk if i had to buy another cage....i will end up weling in this kirk bolt-in i have now

the welded cage will fit better and be stiffer, as you can weld plates on the car and tie the cage into the rocker pannels.

I put my kirk racing bolt-in 6pt cage in my crx a week from Saturday, so we'll see then. I am very excited and pretty confident of the quality and fitment of kirk racing products because of their reputation.

Happy with the 8-point weld in CRX cage--absolutely. Door bars, dash bar, halo main hoop and rear down tubes were a perfect fit. We ordered it with the tubes slighlty longer than the bolt-in model so it could be fitted even tighter to the roof. The weld quality on the main hoop is outstanding as are all of the bends.
They do give great service and support. Made sure ours was shipped as promised.

Happy with my Kirk 6pt weld in. This one was also ordered extra tall, but fitting it was not as easy as some of you guys seem to have had. The plates in front were not in the same plane as the floor, so some tweaking had to be done to the floor to make things meet up better. The X-brace and Nascar door bars were an option. The door bars will go in this week.

I did weigh all the pieces, and the cage is right around 140lbs. IMO, it is extremely beefy, with 1.75 tubes, .125 wall

I really dont like where the rear pickup points are and the fact that it doesnt tie into the rockers....

I'm sure it does a fine job and offers ample protection , and for the money I doubt you could beat it , but after helping with my cage I know how much more in stiffness it offers.....not bashing Dave I'm just giving my opinion.

140 lbs

my cage weighs about half that with no doorbars...

does anyone know about how close( with or without the headliner) the main hoop comes to the roof on a bolt in 4 point Kirk roll bar?

its made with the provisions to retain a headliner , even then I think its still a large gap between the hoop and the liner/roof.
