are you going to use the D16Y8 vtec head??

You won't need another harness, just wire up vtec and knock sensor(I believe the Y8 had a knock sensor)

Ah, you're swapping in the long block. Yes, everything will plug and play, you can run without vtec hooked up, you'll be throwing a code. I'm not sure of the OBD2 SOHC vtec ecu off hand...

there are a few subtle variations between the dx and ex
I believe the 96-98 are obd2 and the 99 and 00 are obd2.5
u should be able to just run your vtec wiring into the new ecu and add a few things like evap canister w/ plug etc

yep, get a EX ECU, same year as your car. 96-98 uses connectors A,B,D and 99-00 uses A,B,C. The only difference should be your harness is missing the 2 plugs for the VTEC unit.

Get an ex ecu!!! We have been telling you this stuff for a while now. What are you going to do about the APC coilovers and all of your suspension bushing you messed up by having your car soooo low. Not being a dick or anything I am just asking a question. How much did u get the motor for?

I have the ECU you need, its a P2P, I'll sell it for 100$.

Also a vtec solenoid is like 200$ from honda I think, and you can probably find one online for 50$
