my car was totaled last week, PICS :(
well thursday night was the demise of my little hatch with only 69,089 miles on the clock
i was hit by a ford econoline panel van and my car was totalled while turning left at an intersection. the accident was ruled no fault which means he gets nothing and i get nothing and neither of us will be fined or have any points added to our licenses
i was in a part of town im not very familliar with and waws in the left turn lane with my buddy following. there were 2 lanes (including the turning lane) on my side of the intersection and one in the oncoming direction. both of my lanes got the light and i waited a few secound and went thinking the other direction had a delayed light. when i was half way through the guy in the van relized he had a green as well and he punched it w/o looking and hit my car. i spun around and did a 180 on to a sidewalk and he hopped the sidewalk and hit a lightpole and knocked the street light off of it. the van only had a big dent in the bumper from the pole.
well heres the pics i took that night

Here are the pics from 2 days ago

i had a sore ankle and a "sprained" wrist which i just found out today is broken, but this has been more of an emotional thing for me than anything. this car was my first car and my life basically, all me and my friends do are work on our cars.
goodbye my friend R.I.P.

that sucks! i know how you feel though. i got cut off and spun out going around a sharp corner with my 91 si. the backend was totaled. 2 days before i was gonna take it off the road for the winter. http://www.geocities.com/joeyp_19/91wreck.html
a month later i bought a 90 si without a motor and combined the best parts of both cars into one good car. it ended up being better than the one i had. so now youve got a chance to do over the things that got screwed up the first time around. you can probably find a rolling chassis in decent shape for like $800-1200 if thats what your looking to do.

To help you out you can always sell the parts to some people going to the PA meet in spring. Maybe you want to post some stuff on the meet message board if you want to do this. Good luck with the 5g hatch

you might want to report that to your state insurance comissioner. from what you said it sounds like it was his fault, especially since you had witnesses. if i remember right, the van would loose right of way in a situation like that since he was at a stand still while you were in front of him. same reason why you can't ram the car in the intersection if you're gridlocked.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Glad to hear you made it out ok.
I'm actually looking to replace the sheetmetal on my red civic hatch below the hatch but above the bumper. It's the piece that the keyhole for the hatch is located in. Mine is dented up from an "incident" involving a median.
email address?
