My '92 4ws prelude just started making this sound. Its really cold outside, so maybe thats just causing it? Whenever im at a complete stop and press the gas to get going again (automatic) about 3 secconds after I press the gas the car well make a rather quiet knock (just once). And every now and then it'll do it when I lightly tap the brakes for the first time after a complete stop. I really cant tell were its coming from that well. Like I said, the sound is rather faint and I cant even hear it with the raido on, but it makes me nervious becase before it started doing that I was shifting the automatic manually (Overdrive). I know its a vague discription, but what do you guys think it is? Should I be nervious about it?

shizzo! It turns out I lost 2 lug nuts (out of four) somehow. One of them was a locking lug nut too! Luckly I noticed before it was too late. Problem sloved.

 

i think i know the sound. i had this problem last summer on my 92si (manual) and it just got louder as time when by and happened more often. i took it to honda and they said it was just a control arm that needed to be tightened. it was allowing the engine to rock back and forth a little bit. only cost an hours worth of labor to fix.
