XenonDepot Philips 5000k Kit and Adjusting the beam pattern
Hey guys I just got my new Philips 5000k HID kit from XenonDepot.com today and let me tell you, this kit is the ****. The output is so nice and pure white!! I give XenonDepot.com
for this quality kit, which is so easy to install also, everything is plug n play, ready to go. But one of my headlamps is aimed slightly higher than the other and I want to even them out. I tried to adjust them with the philips screw driver like you supposed to but I turn and turn and turn, and the pattern stays the same, it doesn't move at all. So is there something wrong with my adjusters or what is it? I wanna get the pattern perfectly straight, so can anyone help me out? Also I will be posting pics and a video a lil bit later tonight, so if you are interested in this kit and want to see how it performs check back later.

but anyways.. adjusting your headlights should be easy.. there are 2 adjusters.. one for up/down, the other for left/right.. just park your car somewhere dark, cover one headlight with a towel or something, then turn the screw driver til u can see which way its moving.. then when u have one side perfect, go park against a wall and match the other side with it.. thats the method i use..and it works perfect.
i had same the same problem, it takes time because you have to keep scrweing it. just park your car infront of your garage door and turn your lights on, and from there just keep on adjusting it, it will take some quite of time because it moves very little.

Thanks for agreeing with me. I dunno if this guy has seen 5000k ever in his life or not, but to me I don't see any reason why one would hate on the 5000k, there is no ricey blue or purple in them at all. After my bulbs warm up, they are completely white, no yellow at all which is exactly what I wanted. The only reason I didn't get 4100-4300 is because its going to leave a yellowish tint which I do not want. I am very happy with my HID kit, its very high quality and the output is nice and bright white. But to MTK, if you have seen 5000k before and you think its ricey or not bright I would have to say you are definately either too picky or on the bandwagon with everyone else jocking 4300k like its the only HID's anyone should buy. I'll have some pics and a video up later for you to check em out. PEACE.

I have 4300K Phillips bulbs, and I can tell you first hand it is NOT yellow at all. It is so freakin white w/ a hint of blue at times, especially when I see my lights reflect back at me in a window or something. There is no blue or any kind of coating on the bulbs, as you can see by this pic:

and yes ive seen 5000K, 6000K, 7000K, 8000K, all of them.. and every 5000K kit ive seen DOES have a blue output.. yes it is better than the stupid 6000K kits, but its just my opinion that its stupid.. most of these higher kelvin kits actually cost MORE than 4300K kits do, which is funny to me..
most common 5000K kits i see are the mccolloch kits, i see them everywhere cuz the local acura dealership sells them and my friend has that shitty kit on his RSX-S.. 4300K bulbs with superwhite tinted glass..

the only reason i "hate" on these higher kelvin kits is because HID isnt for show..and its stupid to spend more money on something less effective..
edit: i had a philips 4300K kit on my car from 1999 - 2002 and from like 6 inches away, you can see the little yellow in it.. but from like 7inches and further, it was just white.. and from any other car on the road. it looked like regular OEM HID, not that, that mattered to me, but im not some newbie just getting into HID.. and i have BMW 3 series OEM HID projectors on my car now with 4100K osram bulbs.. they look purple too, no need for higher kelvin bulbs to please the newbies.

Glad to hear you like your kit!!!!
In terms of colour temperature, it really comes down to personal preference.
MTK, you are 100% correct in stating that the 4100k bulbs will be the most effective (in terms of brightness), however some people prefer to have that extra hint of colour......
1 way or another, thanks for your input.

Steve

I know you don't like he Higher HID kits but the main point is they still provide a lot more lighting then stock! Even the 8000K kits which you "hate on" provide twice the lighting as stock. I think HID is for show and function! Why else would people get higher output halogen bulbs or HID? They want to stand out from the crowd! The stock lighting on all cars is sufficent to drive safely or every car would be mandated to have HID lights! Those are just my $.02!

4100K
anything else is useless, but just my opinion....
I've got the Autolamp-online kit on my coupe, 4100K, and I love em'. They were a little pricier than most, but thet do come with the beam adapter, and that seems to be the need for any HLs that aren't designed for it...
