AGX's and bumpstops?
hey what's up? well, i have the KYB AGX's on my 2000 civic right now and my question is (i know i'm gonna sound really dumb after asking this, so please don't flame), what are the consequences of NOT have any bumpstops installed. i installed my shocks with a friend back in June 2002, and last night, i finally realized that we didn't put the bumpstops from the OEM shock to the AGX's. i know i have a greater risk of bottoming out without them, but i also just wanted to know how long will my shocks go without the bumpstops on board?
also, if they are blown, will there be a leak of some sort? what are some other signs of a blown shock?
oh and by the way, i already did a search, and couldn't find what i was looking for.
thanks in advance

Best thing is to put your bumpstops back in place to prevent damaging your shocks.
"You need the bumpstops as they prevent the suspension from bottoming out. Did you also put the dust covers back in place?" --- sorry don't know how to quote
yeah i put the dust cover back on... you're talking about the black piece of plastic correct?

It's highly recommended that you put your bump stops back on but the world isn't going to end without them. I'm running VIS coils on tokico blues with no bumpstops and they have held up for over 2 years, just avoid pot holes.
alright im gonna get them put on, but how much should i cut? is it 1/2?
also, i had an alignment done after i installed them. am i going to have to get another one done if i take my suspension apart again?

hey what's up again? well my friend and i decided to work on my car and installed the bumpstops (i'm very greatful to have a helpful friend). i dunno why, but it seemed to take a little longer than last time. i guess it was cuz we were making sure we did everything correct. oh yeah, we removed the rear shocks, and it was funny because they already had bumpstops on there!!! oh man. but the front ones didn't, so we went ahead and cut 2 OEM bumpstops in half and slapped them onto the front AGX's. just wanted to let you guys that were helping me out know that they are on there now. thanks for you help once again everyone. now i can sleep easy
