Are the JDM SIR hoods the same on the CRX and CIVIC?
I'm buying a VIS CF hood and they list different part numbers for the civic and crx.
I can't tell which one is for the USDM frontend and which is for the JDM frontend.
I'm pretty sure the one I want is this-> CFH88HCXSI
Can anyone confirm?
I have a crx with the JDM SIR frontend.

 

The SiR hoods should be the same; however, I cannot gaurantee that this will be correct from Vis Racing. If you are loking for a Carbon Fiber hood that will fit your JDM front end I know that JDMHondaParts.com has one that made to fit the JDM civic/crx front ends for $350.

 

I'm in Canada so I'll be ordering it locally.

The EF8 hood does not fit the EF9. Nor do the fenders or headlights.

 

i ordered the JDM ZC Carbon fiber hood for my 89 hatch two years ago from JDMhondaparts(they shipped it to me then). It said "would clear US hoodlines for CRX/ CIVIC", i put it on my Civic and it fit like a glove. Later i bought an 89 CRX and sold the civic and put the hood on my CRX, it didn't fit quite as well, but i had to do some adjustments and it worked fine. I'll try to get some pics and post em later.

thats false.... in anycase, jdm hondaparts carries vis' hoods... that is where I got mine.

 

well the fenders are different but the hood and headlights should be the same as far as i remeber they are interchangeable

 

So does anyone know the part# for the hood?
Civic 88-91 HB JDM(SIR) CFH88HC3ZC

CRX 88-91 2dr(JDM) (SIR) CFH88HCXSI

These are the two listed on the VIS site. The first one has "ZC" in the part# though.

The confusion is because VIS also makes an SIR hood for the USDM frontend.

 

I called vis last week and they told me they don't make a sir hood for the usdm frontends. To my knowledge only fiber images makes the sir hood for the usdm frontends.

 

you are correct. vis doesn't make one for the usdm front ends....unless you want to modify the hood to make it fit.

 

Oh, I must have gotten mixed up with FI. Well that makes it easier.
