Default Cams

Are Cams worth putting on a 95 Accord EX VTEC? Will they give pull off power?

just a little info, you may or may not know but that engine is a single cam. but anyway, you can have your cam regrinded, you'll just need to send in your core.
imo, you need to do some more mods to, and not just the camshaft.

niedejb, that was very, very funny.bwahahahahaha!

Only regrind are available thus far for the f22... but it would make a good bit of power to have the cam reground with more lift and what not.

As others said you would need some other mods to help un cork the intake/ exhaust to really make the cam beneficial.

I'm also going with a regrind from WEB. Waiting on the head to get back from Port Flow. Tom recommended swapping the valvetrain, so were going with Ferrea.

Ah, the dreaded APC. At my last stop to PepBoys, I saw some APC coilovers for sale. The box was opened, just instructions, and the coilovers were in the box. No padding, nothing. I hate APC regardless.

Did the instructions say:
Step 1: Take off factory springs
Step 2: Replace with APC coilover system
Step 3: Apply windshield banner with APC logo

I have often wondered about "regrinds". When a shop does a "regrind" dont they have to add material to the cam lobes then grind it back down?

When you talk about increasing lift, does this refer to duration only or the actual distance of the valve from the seat?

I'm not sure on the adding the material, but most cams I've seen are carburized (case hardened). These "cases" are only a mm or so deep and once ground away leave the softer core steel.

Dont know if the OEM cams are carburized or not. They could be through hardened (all the way through) and this wouldnt be an issue.
