Default Converting a JDM CTR to Left hand drive.

Rather then importing all the parts and creating a CTR from a USDM chassis, wouldnt it be easier to just import a real CTR from Japan and convert it to Left Hand drive??

My question is, how much is involved in changing a right hand drive car to left? Do you just need a new dash??? What parts are needed for this conversion?

it would be easier to build a CTR on a USDM chassis.

and cheaper

i think you need to CUT off that front clip of the usdm chassiss, and THEN get the front JDM end welded on. and then hook everything up, thats why you buy a whole jdm front clip with the motor, cause youll be using everything on that clip such as the rhd wire harness, the throttle cable and the whole under dash wiring on the clip.
good luck

why would you do that? either keep it RHD or use a US chassis and build a CTR

no need to cut the 'front clip off'. just remove and replace the firewall. easy as that.

and yeah what a waste. B16B is a USDM 96+ hatch is cheaper. but I would rather go B18C5 in a USDM hatch.

DO NOT REPLACE THE FIREWALL. if u do even a half-assed job, in an accident, your b16b will greet you up close and give u a nice big hug. the firewall wasn't meant to be fucked with. i would suggest keeping it RHD and knowing a hook up at DMV. or get a USDM cx and front clip weld. [not firewall weld]

what are you talking about? its a lot safer than cutting off your front end to tack on another. how do you think the factory puts the car together? nothing wrong with a firewall swap.

If it's worth it to ya, you can send the car to an EPA company and have it converted to meet the US safety and emission standards. Maybe it would take like a year or so and extra cash, but it sounds good to have it legal and drive it as much as you want rather than only allowed to drive 2500 miles a year in "show car" mode.
