Integra Bumpstop Question, And Ground Control question
Ok so im riding on H & r sports with AGX's right now.
Come winter im going to sway to Ground controls.
What is a good street/ autocross spring rating ( lb)
Also When i installed my springs and shocks i never removed the bumpstops. Should I??? and or should i cut them. I posted in the integra forum also

wrong link.
if you do cut the bumpstops, cut from the wide end. the factory bumpstops are progressive in nature and it is beneficial to retain some of that progressiveness. i switched from a bumpstop that i had trimmed the narrow end off of to one that i trimmed the wide end off of and noticed a huge difference when the suspension bottoms. before it was quite harsh, now it is very soft and gentle.
it's generally a good idea to retain some level of bumpstop. if you don't usually the first thing that makes contact is the inside of your shocks which gets real expensive real fast.

Spring rates on this forum is like asking what's someone favorite......... the answers are endless. This is mainly because different uses, tires, driving styles all play a roll. I am going through the same thoughts. I have everything I need (3 sets of springs) I am trying to choose the rates I am going to use. Here's some of my thoughts for a GSR.
soft: road friendly 380#semiprogressiveFront / 300 rear (matched with a 22mm swaybar)
Medium: a common setup suggested by GC 400F/300R (or 400/350)
medium high: 400/380
Others may chime in with 400/450, 450/500, but its all preference. The best to do is try and ride in similarly set up cars and judge for yourself. also remember that with a GC or any coilover sleeve setup changing rates is much easier than normal "sport" springs. Used springs are plentiful especially in the 8" lenght.
suggestion: get all 8" springs so you can swap front and back. 7" for the rears works but they can not be used in the front on an integra.
Good luck.

I was thinking of running 450 rear and 350 front on my dc2 teg. or maybe i have that backwards. dont you want them solfter upfront?? Im new to this and its mainly a street car but see's STS action about 20 times a year and maybe a track day here and there..
So... maybe 400 front and 300 rear or 450 front and 400 rear. or too rough, im looking into ground controls.
i have 375/450's on the car now. Shocks were at 1/2 stiff at VIR last weekend. No other suspension mods, Kuhmo Ecsta V700's 225/45/15, 32psi cold.
It pushed..... i'm going 450/600 and a big *** rear sway bar. It will probably still push but get squirelly under trail braking and off-throttle situations.

Thanks RJ, you dont get any rub on your car with 225's?? on a 15x7 or 7.5 rims????
wheels sorry
Still just triing to get ready for this race season... Im going to own STS.... (its nice to think)
