Need to reprogram a Remote on a 99 EX
Does anyone know how to reprogram a Keyless entry remote on a 99 Honda Civic Ex I already have one but bought another and now I need to program it to my car thanx
I do! too bad i forget off hand.. the 96-98 are so much easier. Anyhow, send me a PM and i'll give you the instructions on wednesday
ok here you go:
notes> each step except 13 must be done within 5 seconds. 13 can be done within 10 seconds. You can store up to 3 remotes, and all of the remotes you want to program should be on hand. To completely the programming you have to turn the key to the "OFF" position.
Step 1> Unlock the Doors
Step 2> turn key to "ON" position (II)
Step 3> Press the lock or unlock button on remote
Step 4> turn key to off
Step 5> Turn key to on position (II)
Step 6> press the lock or unlock button on remote
Step 7> turn key to off
Step 8> turn key to on position (II)
Step 9> press the lock or unlock button on remote
Step 10> turn key to off
Step 11> turn key to on position (II)
Step 12> press the lock or unlock button on remote
The power locks will cycle to indicate programming mode.
To terminate programming mode at this point, either turn the ignition
key to the "off" position or leave the remote's buttons untouched for
over 10 seconds. To program remote, perform steps 2 to 12.
Step 13> Press the lock button of each remote (one at a time) to be stored.
the power locks cycle to confirm each entry.
a button on each remote to be programmed must be pressed. perform
the programming steps within 10 seconds for each remote or else the
programming will be terminated.
