Default cheap 5 lug conversion......is it possible? ----> did search already.

Can you use any integra/civic knuckles just buy the 5 lug spindles, bearing assembly from Acura to make a 5 lug lug conversion? What about the rear? Can you utilize the trailing arms from any integra/civic and again, buy the 5 lug spindle/hub assmebly? I know front calipers are easy to find cause alot of hondas uses the same front calipers....but what about the rear ones? I heard the 97+ prelude shares the same calipers....can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

check to see if the knuckle itself is the same between the integra and type-r
if the same, then you can just get the hub and caliper and bolt them to your
existing knuckle.

as far as the rear goes, thats a litttle more involved.
oh and prelude rear caliper bracket is same as ITR, but caliper IS NOT

what about just drilling the hub to 5 lug pattern similar to what Fastbrakes does with some rotor kits?? is this possible/safe?
this would be the cheapest way, right?

With all the stolen Type R's out there, a 5 lug conversion should be cheap.....LOL

Bad joke

you can do that in the front, use any integra knuckle and get ITR hubs, calipers, rotors, but why would you want to do that 'cause you'd have to get new wheel bearings and have a machine shop press your current knuckle together with the wheel bearing and ITR hub?

In the rear, the spindles are a different length than regular integra ones, and Acura won't sell them separately from the trailing arm.

you might as well just pay the $1000 and get the full conversion from someone as it would be much more expensive to piece it together IMO.

you can get the rear hub/bearing by itself. but then theres the problem of caliper spacing.

Thanks for the input guys!

Steve, wouldn't the ITR rear caliper braket take into account for the bigger rotor hence spacing it out more? Or am i out to lunch and is totally misundertanding you.

You are correct. I have tried tonight and the prelude/itr rear caliper brakets are actually smaller (the screw holes are closer together) than the trailing arms.

sorry to hijack this thread, but what exactly do i need to bolt on the 5-lug conversion into my car?

do i need the ITR rear trailing arm? what are all the parts neccessary?

i already have the stock ITR struts/shocks/lca's/rear swaybar, and now i just want the OEM brakes and 5 lug to complete the conversion.

i'm sooo sick of the squeal and brake dust from my HP+, i want to do this to improve the braking performance over stock w/o the use aftermarket pads w/ the same characteristics.

pls help.

You need the following parts for the conversion :

-5 lug knuckle / rotors /calipers / pads
-booster / MC
-Rear trailing arm / disk / calipers /hand brake cable
-proporting valve

You need the above for the complete conversion.
