Default ef. vs. eg

Hey guys, just a quick question here, I have a kit off of an 88 civic ef hatch that has a d15 non-vtec engine. I will be placing this into a 95 civic 1.6 vtec d16z. Now I know both are d series and I have confirmed that both the header and oil pan will bolt up no problem, but the thing that I'm wondering is weather or not the downpipe will line up. Does anyone know if the downpipe will line up to the cat flange? Again, this is a downpipe off of an 88 civic sohc going onto a 95 civic sohc. Thanks guys

so let me get this straight, you're putting the d15 non-vtec into the EG? Why, unless you are planning on putting the d16z into the hatch. As far as the downpipe goes, I think it should line up but not 100% on that.

YES IT WILL. i'm 200% sure.

i've used a 93 DX exhaust manifold/downpipe on my 90 hatch. it is 100% the same thing as my 90 DX em/dp and my 91 Si em/dp. same brackets, same length, same everything.

thanks man, that's what I needed to know! Essentially, I'm putting this kit from the yellow ef into a 95 civic coupe. Here are the pics.

So this kit is going into a 95 coupe. The 95 civic coupe has the d16z. Thanks again man, the guy said that the downpipe should line up and that's what I really needed to know!!

so does all that talk mean that i can use a 95 si hatch's thermal r&d exhaust on my 91 hatch with no mods? because i want the pipe to come out the pasenger side like the 92-95 ones do but on a 91.

i think its a good question!! by doing this i will erase 2 90 degree bends for way beter flow, ill have more ground clearance, and also it will be a weight redution. besides all of that i know who has one for sale that cheap

The reason your question is retarded is because we are talking about exhaust manifolds/headers here, not catback exhausts... Touche' noob!

HOLY HI-JACKED THREAD BATMAN!!!!

hahahha, I just needed to know if the downpipes (I know that the manifolds swap) would line up to the cat flange without any cutting because I've been told by a few people that it would. Just looking for some confirmation. haha, but go ahead, keep arguing and cussing...it's amusing!! hahahaha
