Wondering if a EGT gauge is worth buying can they tell you if you are about to actually hurt your engine with any kind of accuracy?? A the moment I have a autometer A/F gauge I know they are basically a toy espeacially with the stock map sensor when boosted.. What EGT gauge would you folks reccomend I buy the Greddy??

 

i personally think it is. They help out a lot when tuning the engine. It can get confusing though with your timing. Is is also cool cuz then you will have another gauge

 

Nope its a waste of money, just like that dumb boost gauge. JK, it can tell you a signifigant amount about your motor.

 

Whenever the word "worth" is in a question, cost is probably a factor. You can buy everything you need for a functional EGT setup for around $60 if you look around. Aircraftspruce.com has all the items you will need. It wont look as beautiful as a fancy name brand gauge, but, actually I take that back, to me things utilitaian are beautiful, so whatever floats your boat.

 

Thanks, so say if I got a bad batch of petrol it would be able to tell me if I was getting close to detonation or detonating?? How much is the Greddy EGT ?
