Default I think this is my last Q on sounds - Brand.

This weekend is D Day.

So I think this is the last Q before I go and heat up the plastic.

Does matching brand matters?

If I go with Sony, should I stick with Sony HU, Sony Speakers, Sony Amp, Sony Sub?

Yes, I know certain brand make certain things better. So in other words, will I be avoiding less "mistakes" if I stay with the same brand?

Maybe Sony is not a good example, because they make good stuff. But are there brands I should avoid if I was to take this approach, where I was to buy the whole system from them?

I would never get a Sony HU. I've used a few and they just don't seem that good. I'd go with a Pioneer HU mostly cause that is what I know the most about, Of course I'm sure there are much better brands that I haven't used.

My HU is Pioneer, My Front and Back speakers are Pioneer 6.5" 's my amp is a Zapco AG200 and I have an Alpine Type R 12" Sub. I think my system sounds great, but again it's all personal opinion. Maybe someone else can be more clear on this.

Why am I the only one replying to your threads???

Thank you for your replies. I appreciate it very much as I went from a no-nothing about sounds, to a guy that at least know (sounds) like he know what he is talking about.

Guess what. My plastic got super hot today. I know what you said, but I dished out for all Sony. From top to bottom to the max. Everything was a step above from what I wanted. Better HU, 3 way speakers at all corners, 4 channel amp, 12" sub. ( what I wanted was lowest $ HU, 2 way, 2 channel, 10")

I felt kind of "ripped off" because I spent more than what I should (I said this would not happened). But it was a deal I could not turn down. I price out the items, the price sold was about 80$ less than Crutchfield to start and it's including tax and complete installation. I have a hard time believing it, and ask for it in writing with the exact model numbers.

Installation is on Sunday, so I'll post my review then.
